Take a moment to read the verses below - in fact, read them out loud.
Stop after each verse and ask yourself, what does this really mean?
Then read on!
Romans 3:23  "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Have you ever committed murder?  It's doubtful that you have.  But God says that
anger is the same as murder.  Ouch!  By God's standards, we are all a mess!
We fall way short of God's requirements.
Romans 6:23 "for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

What does this verse say?  Read it again before continuing - read it aloud.  Yeah,
it says that for just one sin we deserve death.  Do you know what real death is?  It
is complete separation from God, it is spending eternity in hell!
John 3:3  "No one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again."
Do you know why Jesus came to die?  Jesus came to die for sin.  Romans 6:23
said that the "wages of sin is death."  When Jesus died on the cross He died for
sin, for each one of us, for the sins of the entire world.

What do you have to do to get a gift?  You have to accept it.  That's it.  There are
no strings attached!  It's the same with the cross of Jesus Christ.  It's a free gift!
But it doesn't become ours until we accept it.  To be born again is to accept the
gift.  It is a spiritual birth.
John 14:6  "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the
Father except through me."
What does this verse say?  Read it again - out loud!  It's pretty straight forward
isn't it?  Jesus said there is no way to go to Heaven to be with God unless you
accept His free gift.
Romans 10:9-11  "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and
believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is
with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  As the Scripture says,
'Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame."
Wow!  It's hard for all of us to believe that we can be forgiven.  Read the verse
again - out loud.  Do you think this verse includes murderers, drug addicts and
alcoholics (etc...). When it says that "you will be saved?"  Yes, anyone can be
saved and forgiven by God - no matter what you have done!  It doesn't matter if it
was kicking the cat in anger or committing adultery.  Everyone can be forgiven -
and that includes you!
Revelation 3:20  "I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice
and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me."
What does this verse mean?  Read it out loud.  All we have to do to accept a gift
is to receive it.  Jesus is offering the gift.  Jesus wants you to have a personal
relationship with Him!  He wants to forgive your sins.  He wants you to spend
eternity in Heaven with God.
These five questions are a recap of the verses you have just read.  Take a
moment to think about them.

Are you a sinner? (Romans 3:23)
Do you want forgiveness of sins? (Romans 6:23)
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again? (John 3:3)
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ? (John 14:6)
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?  (Romans
10:9-10)
If you answered yes and are ready to have a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ, just ask Him for His free gift.  Use the following prayer if you are not sure
what to say.

Father, thank You for the free gift of eternal life.  I know I am a sinner and need
forgiveness.  I am sorry for my past sins, and I ask you to forgive me.  Jesus, I
believe You died on the cross for my sins and arose from the dead.  I now open
the door of my heart and invite You to come into my life.  I realize that there is
nothing I can do to earn my salvation, and I place my complete trust in You
alone for eternal life.  I choose to follow You as my Lord.  Please make me the
person You want me to be.
If you haved prayed this prayer today and have asked Jesus into your heart and
life, then you need to take the next step and "confess with your mouth" as the
Bible says we are to do in Romans 10:9-10.  You can do that in a number of
ways.  You can
let us know because it will encourage us; you can tell your family;
you can tell your friends; you can tell your church, or if you don't have a church you
attend, find a church that teaches the Bible and where there are loving caring
people and tell them.  We all need fellowship and encouragement and the Bible
tells us to "encourage one another".......it's a two way street, to encourage and to
be encouraged.  God Bless You, and Congratulations!
